Fiat Brazil has created a fictional character, Tony T., who was supposedly looking for a racer to join his team in the US. To select that one outstanding racer, we have created an online racing game where online players could compete with a real car, running on a real racing track in Rio de Janeiro.
The video below helps to explain this, hmm, uncommon idea.
Below you can find some pictures of the final competition. We decided to bring the finalists to Rio to play the virtual game from a game station that was built next to the racetrack.
Bonus: receiving the "Yahoo! Big Idea Chair" award at the agency.
My tasks on this project:
- Design the interaction for the website where visitors could play against the real racer: a 3D + video interface built in Flash technology.
- Follow-up the development and tests of the racing game.
- Integrate all the digital assets for the campaign in a cohesive way.
